Our founder, Matt Neuroth, spent the first 12 years of his career building and running an award-winning digital agency providing high-end design and building complex custom software for venture-funded startups, world-renowned NGO’s, and Fortune 500 companies.

Along the way, we learned a ton about how to find and hire top talent, and ultimately began providing recruiting and staff augmentation services to our clients. We’ve placed thousands of engineers, designers, project managers, and other tech talent over the last 15 years.

WHO WE ARE

Matt Neuroth

Matt started in tech and project management while still a student at Northwestern University. He has a B.A. in Creative Writing and has applied his love of language and critical thinking to software development and team building for the past 20 years. Outside of work, he's a guitarist and songwriter, with recordings, tours, and a deep passion for music. At home, he's a proud parent of two boys and caretaker of three noisy cats.

David Jamison

Managing Director

David (we call him “DJ”) is a seasoned agency director and builder/manager of technical teams, and he draws on that experience to bring Backline clients team solutions that fit their exact needs. The wayward career path that brought him here includes teaching, student advising, magazine editing, and traveling the world as a professional drummer. When he’s not working or being walked by his 80lb Golden Retriever, you’ll find him at band rehearsal or on the tennis court.
